Concept cars are my favourite corner of the car world. They are where designers get to say what they really think, before the budget meetings start.
The problem is that they are scattered all over the internet: a press release here, a video there, and no easy way to see how an idea from 1999 shows up in a production car decades later. (The Ford 021C is one of my favourite examples.)
So I built a small site to fix that: conceptcars.io.
What you can do there
- Browse concepts by year, automaker, body style and powertrain
- Open any concept for a short description, the production cars it influenced, and video links
- Wander through the history of car design, one concept at a time
It is still small and I am adding to it as I go. If there is a concept you think belongs there, let me know.
